Our original base is located in Sidney BC on the tip of Vancouver Island. Just a short distance from the Victoria airport and ferry terminals and tucked amongst the Gulf and San Juan Islands. The full service amenities at Port Sidney Marina provide an excellent starting off point for your charter. Everything you could need including provisioning, marine supplies, clothing stores and gift shops are all within walking distance. Portside amenities include: café, restaurant, pub, food stores, liquor stores, museums, chandleries, gift stores and hotels. Enjoy marine parks, seaside towns and world-class resorts in one of the world’s top cruising grounds.

Pacific Playgrounds International, Saratoga Beach,

May of 2006 saw the opening of our satellite base at Pacific Playgrounds in the Comox Valley Regional District. This new base provides un-paralleled access to the Desolation Sound cruising area and beyond. We had very strict standards when choosing a base for this area and Pacific Playground has met them all. The base offers easy flight access via Comox Airport, an excellent grocery store, accommodations, liquor store and Riverside Pub, all within walking distance of the marina. The marina also offers the closest access to Desolation Sound available from any B.C. Bareboat Charter Association Member.

Safe Anchorages near Pacific Playgrounds

Under ideal conditions, Mittlenatch Island is a one hour sail from the Pacific Playgrounds Marina. This is a good spot for a temporary anchorage. If the winds blowing NW, head to the South side of the island for some protection. If she's blowing SE, anchor on the North end.

Another good spot to anchor overnight is at the Twin Islands, south of Cortes Island. This is a two hour sail from the marina.
